An exciting tour of the capital of the Dominican Republic including some of the most popular cultural and historic highlights and shopping time!
We start our trip at the hotel reception and head towards the capital of the Dominican Republic. We will arrive at Los Tres Ojos, a beautiful breath of nature at the entrance of the city with underground caverns, caves, paths and freshwater lagoons or “Ojos” as the Taínos used to call them.
In Santo Domingo, we explore the Ciudad Colonial, or the Colonial City, the most ancient settlement of “The Americas”, declared as the World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1990. We explore a number of impressive historic monuments dating back to the 16th century, such as the Alcazar de Colon, the Museum of the Casas Reales, the National Pantheon, the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, etc. We visit these places accompanied by our guide who helps learn more about the grand history of this miraculous country.
We will take you to an exceptionally beautiful restaurant located in the colonial part of the capital for lunch where you will be able to enjoy an exquisite Dominican menu in an elegant and relaxing atmosphere.
Once we are finished with sightseeing and the lunch we head to the Calle El Conde, which offers a handful of various shops selling Dominican production. Tourists have free time to do some shopping and explore the narrow streets of the Colonial City.
