Los Haitises National Park

A visit to the wonderful Haitises National Park.

As we approach the town of Sabana de la Mar, we will board a boat to cross the waters of the Caño Hondo River (15 minutes) towards the Bay of San Lorenzo, until our arrival at the Bay of Samaná, to make our way into the lush vegetation of an exuberant landscape.

Los Haitises National Park is a natural sanctuary for many species of birds, reptiles, crustaceans, fish, shellfish and a variety of orchids.

During our visit to one of the caves, we will be able to see pictographs and petroglyphs left by the Taino Indians who inhabited these caves 500 years ago. We can also see a virgin beach that is accessible only by sea.

After traveling for about 50 minutes, we will reach the El Salto de Yanigua Waterfall, where we can swim and relax, but especially for the enjoyment of a natural and therapeutic spa with high-quality mud to rejuvenate your skin, followed by a typical Dominican buffet-style lunch.
Upon our return, we will make a stop at a small town to visit the children of low-income families to spread cheer and distribute school supplies, clothes and personal items (no cash or candy, please), etc.
