Ziplines Adventure

 

Visit the first of the Dominican Republic’s Zip-Line Tour, constructed by one of the most experienced Costa Rica’s Canopy Tour builder.  The exhilarating adventure takes you flying across the magnificent Anamuya Lake.  Your naturalist guides will show you the way, helping you make the most of the adventure and unlocking the secrets of the Taino Anamuya Mountains.

After only 1 hour 15 minutes drive onboard a safari truck transportation, you will be entering a whole new dimension of entertainment.  Our expert Canopy Guides will teach you all you need to know about the ride and the equipment.

You will be transferred to the Welcome Center, where a safety briefing will be conducted.  From there, you will walk along one of the property roads and garden trails for about 5 minutes, until reaching the first platform, and be ready to face the challenge of “flying” from one platform to another.  You will be safely attached with climbing gear to the cables with the longest one being 250 meters long!

Your tour consists of 11 platforms and 11 Zip Lines stretched across the length of the mountain range throughout 2 mile.  Our Zip Line Tour was built with steel cables, traversing system on a steel pulley with a manual breaking system only when needed. Most cables are calabered with its necessary speed to fly and enjoy.  So just let you Zip from platform to platform and swing through the air with a privileged bird’s eye view of the lush, tropical ancient Taino Mountain.

At the end of the tour, fresh fruits will be served and you will have adequate time to purchase a special souvenir of this unique adventure.

Instructors, soft drinks and fruits are included in the Tour. Comfortable clothing, camera, sunscreen, insect repellent, shoes or sneakers and cash for souvenirs are recommended.

Enjoy rural roads where you can appreciate the flora and fauna of the country. Interact with typical Dominicans in an ambience outside hotels. • Stop and taste freshly cut sugar cane, also  visit our new Sugarcane Factory to enjoy a TRAPICHE moved by oxen, (as used in the colonial settlement) where we extract the sugar cane juice called GUARAPO, which our clients have the opportunity to taste, also they can  enjoy the whole process from sugar cane, to guarapo, converted into molasses, then to vinasa and finally to our delicious Dominican Rhum.

• Learn about the Dominican Tobacco and see first hand how cigars are made. Also learn about the history of tobacco in the Dominican Republic and its long tradition of making some of the best cigars in the world.

• Visit a typical country home to sample fresh exotic Caribbean fruits, roasted coffee, cacao, see and learn how they live from the land and their organic products and have a chance to mingle with the local people.

• Visit our Bavaro Runners Ranch right on the Anamuya Mountains. Feast on a typical Dominican buffet to recharge batteries and enjoy the delights of the Dominican gastronomy.

“Crazy Wheels” Atv and buggy tour

On this excursion we travel by bus to nearby Dominican village Benerito, a typical settlement in the La Romana – Bayahibe area, where we are met by the 4 x 4 quad bikes and buggies!

Following a safety briefing, guests climb into the  4 x 4 quad bikes/ buggies and set off on an adventure through the rugged Dominican countryside; through the sugar cane fields that dominate the La Romana – Bayahibe area.

Along the way, whilst enjoying the unique thrill of driving a buggy or Atv, we visit a Batey, a small village where Dominican and Haitian cane field workers live with their families and where we visit their primitive school and learn how they cut the sugar cane and even get the opportunity to taste the freshly cut sugar cane – there is nothing quiet like it!

Perhaps the most popular stop of the excursion is at the Chavón river, where you can cool off in the water and take some photos with the beautiful scenery and of course posing with your buggy!

NOTE: On this excursion, adventurers will experience riding in both the 4×4 quad bikes and the buggies.

Dominibus – love at first sight!

Every day  from 8:30am to 1:30pm    The Dominibus, TYPICAL Dominican Bus, will give you the opportunity to enjoy the most romantic places in the Dominican Republic: Altos de Chavon ,  the reconstruction of a 16 century Spanish Village. Then a tour in a characteristic river boat to explore the Chavon river and on the way back to the Hotel we will stop to visit La Romana town.

Horse riding at “Padre Nuestro”

Padre Nuestro is part of the Parque Nacional del Este national park in the La Romana – Bayahibe area of the Dominican Republic, and is a wonderful place to discover the indigenous flora and fauna of the country.

This horse riding excursion will lead you through the indigenous dry tropical forest of Padre Nuestro to the Cueva de Chico, a cave and underground lake, where petroglyphs created by the Taino indians (the native Indians and original inhabitants of the Dominican Republic) can be seen.

Cultural tour of Santo Domingo

On this excursion you will discover the Dominican Republic’s capital city; Santo Domingo, known as the first city of the New World, which was founded by Bartholomew Columbus in 1496 and is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas.

The journey to Santo Domingo from the hotel in the La Romana – Bayahibe area, is in an air-conditioned bus and takes 2 hours.

On our way to Santo Domingo, we pass through San Pedro de Macoris on the Eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, where we admire the town’s beautiful white cathedral.

On arrival into Santo Domingo we explore the Zona Colonial, the colonial zone, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which bordered by the Ozama river, has an impressive collection of 16th century buildings, including palatial houses and majestic churches that reflect the architectural style of the late medieval period.

In the Zona Colonial we visit the Alcázar de Colón, the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor and the El Conde shopping boulevard, where we have lunch at a typical Dominican restaurant called El Conuco. During this buffet-style lunch you will sample traditional Dominican cuisine ,whilst enjoying Dominican music and dancing.

After lunch we return in coach to the hotel.
